Art Opening
The community is invited to attend an exhibition and sale of the work of two of the Southwest's leading masters, Dolona Roberts and Shirley Thomson Smith on Saturday, September 11 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Casa de Zia, 4372 Camino Dos Vidas (East Mesa). Carrie Hamblen was presented with the "Woman of the Year" Award at the recent Annual Stonewall Gala put on in El Paso by Rio Grande Adelante, El Paso's LGBT organization. We could not be more proud to see her innumerable contributions to our community-at-large recognized again! Hats off, Carrie!! You are always our Woman of the Year!

Southern NM Pride annually presents awards to the LGBT community and its allies through its Parade Grand Marshall--our highest award--and Pride Award recipients, honoring members of Southern New Mexico who, through their volunteerism, activism and/or community involvement, better the lives of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community.

HIV Testing:
HIV Testing will be available at the GLBTQ Center every 2nd Tuesday through the NM Department of Health starting May 11 from 2-5 PM.
Alcoholics Anonymous:
Announcing a closed meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous every Thursday at 7:00 PM at Unity Church, 125 Wyatt. This is a special interest meeting for the LGBT alcoholic, although all alcoholics are welcome. The only requirement is that you respect the double anonymity of the attendees. There will be an open meeting every Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Living Tree Community Center, 1210 North Main. FFI: call Ilene (575) 526-9052 or 313-0858.

Support Group for Individuals with HIV/AIDS
Please note: This group is temporarily suspended while seeking a new meeting location. Contact Dr. Barneclo for more information.
This support group will be an anonymous and safe experience for individuals where they may discuss stressors, learn from others about acquiring services and coping, recognize that they are not alone, or work through the grieving process of having acquired HIV. The group initially will be led by trained mental health professionals with the intent of eventually allowing the group members to lead.
