The Gentlemen's Club (TGC) was formed in August 2008 owing to a need for a social organization for gay men in the Las Cruces and southern New Mexico area. Its first function was a potluck dinner which drew 23 men, many of whom were new to the area. From that group, The Gentlemen's Club has developed a roster of over 150 men. We try to schedule a monthly potluck dinner (usually the third Saturday of the month)  most often in a member's home.  We also have a monthly Sunday Lunch Bunch (normally the first Sunday of the month) in a local restaurant of choice. Other, smaller get-togethers have also been arranged for cabaret music nights. Many fast and true friendships have developed among members. 

The goals of the Gentlemen's Club are:

1. To provide a safe and wholesome venue for gay men to meet and socialize.
   
2. To encourage and develop special interest groups, within the organization to pursue and share such activities, as hiking, biking, card playing, day trips, music, politics, etc.
   
3. To provide and encourage a network of gay-owned and gay-friendly businesses and services which can be promoted and utilized by our community.
   
4. To be a voice and advocate when needed for the GLBT community.
   
5. To develop joint activities which are beneficial to the GLBT community, with our counterpart Lesbian group, The Sabra Connection.
   
6. To demonstrate that where there is unity, there is strength.
